What are the various decoration methods and which does College Hype offer?

We offer several options with which to decorate garments, including screen printing, heat transfers, and embroidery. We are craftsmen using state of the art equipment and traditional screen printing and embroidery techniques that have been perfected over the decades.  For example, we use only the finest plastisol screen printing inks to ensure a durable and long lasting finish that will outlast the garment. Our Embroidery is custom-tailored to each fabric type, ensuring the proper density and pull on the garment.

What is the average turnaround for custom jobs?
Our average turnaround time for both screen print and embroidery services falls between 5 and 10 business days. Rush Services are available. Factors that influence the turnaround are product availability, the quality or complexity of the art, and the time of year; Spring and Summer are busiest.

Can you print individual names and/or numbers on my items?
Yes, you can customize your items with individual names and numbers. We offer a large variety of styles and sizes, so please call us at 888-983-3625 to place your order when you require names and/or numbers.

Can I mix and match different styles and garment colors within my order?
Absolutely, as long as the image being printed and the ink colors being used are the same for all the items within your order you can mix and match as much as you like.  If the design is the same but you need to change ink colors there will be a $30 charge per ink color being changed.  You will need to communicate this request via email and you will be charged separately for this request.

What is the minimum order I can place?
For custom screen print orders, our minimum is 24 pieces, and we ask that you order in increments of 12 pieces thereafter. For embroidery, the quantity can be less, depending on the item and the customization.

I need help with my artwork - can you help?
Absolutely! At College Hype, basic layouts and edits are included in the price quote. This is typical of over 98% of our orders. However, if you require original art created from scratch or re-created, please give us a call and we will discuss how to create that perfect design for you. Our typical hourly rate is $50 for full-featured art created by one of our four in-house artists. As always, there is NO CHARGE for using our on-line Tee-Maker program, which allows you to be the designer!

What payment methods do you offer?
We understand the unique needs of all of our customers so we offer a variety of payment options to allow each of our customers a choice in how they submit payment.
Credit Cards
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. For the security of all credit card transactions, we screen all credit card orders for potential fraud so it is important that the billing address you use in the ordering process matches the billing address of your credit card. All payments are securely transmitted using secure socket layer (SSL) technology.

Purchase Orders from Corporations, Schools, and Government Agencies
Net Terms are available to Corporations, Schools and Government Agencies. If you qualify and wish to use a purchase order, please call us at 888-983-3625 to place your order; we will take care of the rest. Other qualifying organizations wishing to establish net terms and utilize purchase orders may setup special payment options by contacting College Hype.

Payments by Check – Via Mail
If you prefer to mail your check, please call us at 888-983-3625 to place your order. Because of the custom nature of our products, we cannot start the processing of your order until your payment is received.

What types of art files do you accept?
We can work with just about any type of art file, be it a paper napkin sketch, an old t-shirt, or just an idea.  Obviously, the more detailed artwork you provide us, the more cost-effective and better your shirts will turn out. Will I see a sample before you run my order?
We have an excellent electronic proofing system in place.  Generally within 2 business days of placing your order you will receive an electronic proof of your artwork designs.  This proof will show you ink or thread colors, image sizes, placement, etc.  We do not begin production of your order until you have approved your electronic proof. Pre-Production samples for screen printed orders are not provided for orders under 1,000 units unless requested, and a sampling charge will be applied.  If your order is 1,000 units or more and there is sufficient lead times, at your request, we will produce a production sample for you at no charge.  Please call us for further details. Pre-Production samples for embroidery can be requested. You will receive an actual swatch of the embroidered logo for your review.

How do I obtain a price quote?
To give you an accurate quote on your project, we need to know the following:

  • Garment style number and color(s)
  • Size break down (what sizes and how many of each size you need)
  • Image size and placement (i.e. full front, left chest, back tag, etc)
  • Ink Colors
  • Artwork

Can you match PMS colors for screen printing and embroidery?
PMS colors are designed for paper ink to be placed on white stock. If you have a specific PMS color in mind, we can help you choose a stock ink color or thread color that is close to the PMS color. For screen printing, you can pay extra for a PMS color match, but understand it cannot be guaranteed to be exact on a textile, especially if it is not screen printed on white. For embroidery, stock thread colors must be used.

How do I know the correct print dimensions?
College Hype's largest print dimension is 14.5" tall OR wide, however the standard t-shirt print is 12.5". Print dimensions are really dependent on the location and detail of the design. College Hype's art department can help you size your design for the look you are trying to achieve.

Can you do an all over print?
College Hype prints on finished garments using a standard screen print press, so we are UNABLE TO PRINT ON THE ENTIRE GARMENT.

Can I get a garment sample?
Yes, we do provide sample garments. We ask that you pay for the items at a discounted price plus $5 per item for shipping. Call 888-983-3625 for more details or to order samples.
